I discovered this blog and had to chuckle. Scandinavians in general and Finns in particular (Yes, I do know Finland does not belong to Scandinavia but this would take things to far, eh?) are very conscious about how they look and dress. The funniest example of how bizarre things could turn in extremis – was one of my professors at the University of Jyväskylä. I think it was a tailored suit he wore (or then it was not9 – anyway it was a nice suit, darkish – I’d say dark grey or even black. Down below he wore – I am not kidding – white socks and sandals. It always reminds me of how funny we human beings sometimes are willing to behave – when it comes to looks.
