i have been following this blog closely over the course of the past year(s) – the author plans(ned?) to make his first million by a certain age. yesterday he was laid off, a consequence of the financial crisis. it’s as far the most radical example of how our world changes, of how much we have become dependent on factors we can not anymore influence. is my job safe? or is there somebody up there crunching numbers already, going through column after column, counting digits? today in this world globalized world, there is a lot more at stake than stocks and options. it’s trust, pushing and pulling though a crisis together. the best quote i have hear so far was: “whoever thinks, that a crisis can be solved by only looking at the costs, laying off people and thus reducing spending on a short-term level is doomed. he hasn’t understood that a crisis asks for trust, in business, in people.” or to quote warren buffet: “when people sell – buy.”

I believe.
