Caesarem vehis, Caesarisque fortunam.

I always dreamed about going back to ancient Rome. In high-school Latin was one of my favourites and in my mind, I would travel on on a horseback with him, the legions behind him, conquering Gallia. Why do I come up with these things. Yesterday (I couldn’t sleep so I stayed up until 4) in the night I came across a remarkable account of Caesar’s life – Gave me a big smile. Read below. “I know i am only 22, but at my age other people where leading a revolution, inventing something or changing the world in some way.” – Caesar was holding a position as a Quaestor in what is Spain today, it is said he was sitting in a courtyard leaning against a statue of Alexander the Great – lamenting that he had as yet performed no memorable act, whereas at his age – 33 years old – Alexander had already conquered the whole world. The quote above? Caesar and his troops were trapped during the civil war – trying to get reinforcement from Italy he boarded a little boat during a stormy winter night. The boat’s captain said it was absolutely impossible to get anywhere during such a storm. Caesar answered with “Nothing is impossible. Nothing” and the quote above – “You’re carrying Caesar and his luck”
