what a wonderful world

it’s been a long time since I’ve heard eva cassidy’s interpretation of “what a wonderful world”, she died in 1996 and the recording was made only a couple of weeks prior to her cancer-caused dead. her voice is strong and clear and through the darkness she reaches out…. I hear babies crying, I watch them grow, they’ll learn much more than I’ll never know, and I think to myself what a wonderful world, yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

We sometimes forget all about it, but this is, after all, a wonderful world.
