first i felt like a prisoner in my own home. i hate nothing more than being forced to stay at one place, being the ever-hyperactive child that i am. but then again it’s the first time in weeks if not months, that i have been able to really relax, sit back and read, read and read even more. on the other hand i’ve been watching some of the most interesting movies in a long time: “nichts als die wahrheit” (nothing but the truth) is the fictional story of Nazi-doctor Josef Mengele, who killed thousands of innocent victims in the death-camp of Auschwitz. The story follows the assumption that Mengele did not die 1974 in South America but staged his death and now plans his return to Germany to take his trial. At stake is nothing more “than the foundations of our country” as the judge puts it. The movies takes more than one interesting turn, confronting the viewer not only with history but also with neo-nazism and the question if unbelievable cruelty can find justice at all. well worth to see.
I believe.
