Yesterday I made the annual visit to Mt Field to see the fagus (or ‘cornflake tree’ as it known by my friends’ kids) as it changed colour. This year winter has come a bit earlier than usual so we found ourselves walking through the snow and in the snow, but the scenery was no less beautiful than ever.
As I felt the cold almost reach right through to my bones it was a timely reminder of the power of nature:
Nature has no mercy at all. Nature says, “I’m going to snow. If you have on a bikini and no snowshoes, that’s tough. I’m going to snow anyway.”
