This time it has nothing to do with what I think about our role in this war, but rather I see a mother who lost her son, a widow who lost her husband and two little girls who will grow up without their father. Were this not already enough they now must deal with a government that can’t provide a consistent story about what went wrong, or even repatriate the correct body to Australia (more details here…).
I cannot even begin to imagine the pain they must be feeling at this moment and all I can hope is that the innuendo and excuses cease and they are at least provided with the truth.
