Sleep is really underrated these days. It seems that we all lead such busy lives that the easiest place to find that extra time is to cut back on sleep, as if sleep is some wasted time. I see it with my colleagues and my family. I know I don’t need as much sleep as some people, but lately even I’ve been living on the edge.
This morning I woke up early. Very early for a Sunday. Even though I’ve got heaps to do I decided that none of that really mattered and instead I allowed myself to go back to sleep. That extra 2 hours of sleep was wonderful, so good as one of my student’s says he can’t believe it can be free.
The simple pleasures are so often the best.
