As I am writing these words my batteries are empty when they should be full. Behind me are some of the most challenging and emotional days of my life. 2013 was a year that took it all from me. As I wave the old year goodbye here is one wish for 2014: Please be awesome.<\/p>\n
In January I missed Mikko every second I was away.
\nIn February I felt like somebody I didn’t know.
\nIn March I watched him pause and wonder.
\nIn April I returned to my beloved South Africa.
\nIn May we were brothers in arms.
\nIn June swim, bike and run made up for good times.
\nIn July my mind was racing from chasing pirates.
\nIn August I was headed upstream.
\nIn September I was walking down the magic carpet.
\nIn October I was in an Empire State of Mind.
\nIn November nothing felt better than being a dad.
\nIn December things stopped making sense.<\/p>\n
Be near me when I fade away,
\nTo point the term of human strife,
\nAnd on the low dark verge of life
\nThe twilight of eternal day. <\/p>\n
