A few weeks ago my Mum sent me a great article (from the Weekend Australian) about Hobart, my dear home city. One of the things that stuck most in my mind from this article was a comment from Michael Field, former premier of Tasmania. He claims that one of the greatest things about a city like Hobart, is that it doesn’t discriminate based on income. Anyone, even those with an entirely modest income can go down to the waterfront and have an affordable seafood dinner and a bottle of wine, or just walk around one of the world’s most beautiful harbours for free. Hobartians would have it no other way.
