You think that nothing can be worse than losing someone close to you, like a family member, but this week I learnt that to lose a colleague is at least as hard. There is nowhere to escape to, no refuge at work, but rather constant reminders everywhere you turn. Now that I am beyond the absolute shock, confusion is taking over and all I want is answers that I doubt I will ever get. Fear even begins to creep in, as I see each person dealing with this in his or her own way and wonder if this will really bring us closer together and not tear the place apart.
\nAt least today, through all the mess and confusion, I saw hope for the former. In one small conversation with a student who needed nothing more than to talk and know that I too don’t have the answers.<\/p>\n
