I can&#8217;t wait to find out.<\/p>\n<p>Is it April yet?<br \/>\nI forget sometimes how slowly summer passes<br \/>\nYou disappeared into Departures<br \/>\nOnly half a year ago<br \/>\nIt seems like so much more, you know<br \/>\nI went a fortnight without so much as an email<br \/>\nThen a postcard scant of detail<br \/>\nIn which you wished me all the best<br \/>\nFrom the non-specific north west<\/p>\n<p>Should it one day come to pass<br \/>\nThat you sit down to your memoirs<br \/>\nWhere will this go?<br \/>\nThe chapter in your life entitled San Francisco<\/p>\n<p>Are you warm enough?<br \/>\nI remember how the fog comes off the water<br \/>\nAnd the days are ever shorter<br \/>\nAnd I worry you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be cold<br \/>\nOr have you found someone to hold?<br \/>\nI spent the summer with the curtains drawn against it<br \/>\nCounting all the nights you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve wasted<br \/>\nUnder unfamiliar stars<\/p>\n<p>Should it one day come to pass<br \/>\nThat you sit down to your memoirs<br \/>\nWhere will this go?<br \/>\nThe chapter in your life entitled San Francisco<\/p>\n<p>Are you ever coming clean?<br \/>\nOr will I never know the meaning<br \/>\nOf the lines you scribbled out<br \/>\nSo that I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t read between?<br \/>\nAre you ever coming home?<br \/>\nOr should I learn to do without you?<\/p>\n<p>Should it one day come to pass<br \/>\nThat you sit down to your memoirs<br \/>\nWhere will this go?<br \/>\nThe chapter in your life entitled San Francisco<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June feels so long away.
