This past Saturday marked 10 years since my dear grandfather died. On one level it feels as if it was only yesterday but when I take the time to reflect I immediately realise how much has changed in this time. At some moments there is a tangible sadness at what he has missed, but with that comes the knowledge that he would be proud of his legacy.
\nIt’s been a funny Easter break, spent in part with Frank, a reminder of my old life in California and the rest with my oldest and dearest friends that form an even more important part of the latest chapter of my life here and now. The old stories were flying thick and fast on Saturday night and even though we have all heard them so many times before, it was a great feeling to be there with the people who have known me so long and through some pretty big changes at that. It’s been a long time since we’ve all been together like that and we were like a bunch of excited school kids again at a sleepover, chocolate eggs and all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
