With only one round left, we’re holding down 2nd spot on the ladder and all things goes well I would rate my team as serious title contenders. Why then am I sick of hockey and for the first time ever, I actually don’t really care whether we win or not?<\/p>\n
As I pondered this very question at training tonight it occurred to me that I’m the 2nd oldest in my team, where the majority are teenagers or in their early 20’s at most. As I considered where all my old teammates are now, I realised that for most of them it got to the stage where their lives were full of other things and (quite rightfully) hockey lost it’s former importance. I’ll see how I feel once the season is over, but right now I’m thinking that the time has come to leave this part of my life behind and make time for other things that matter more to me at this stage in my life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
