i wrote this story about a 87-year old woman from near villach who for 33 years has been volunteeringly working for the austrian hydrological service. so me and one of our photographers went there to interview her and she was probably the most vivid and active 87-year-old i have ever met. not only does she still go hiking in the mountains but regularly travels to rome and yes, even has decided to go back to college and attend some courses. and then i made this stupid mistake – i spelled her name wrong. so mrs. tschurtsch (and not tschurtscher!) i doubt you’ll ever read this, but i am sorry (and have tried to call you a dozen times!). i really am, because as jochen put it: “if she’d be 25, someone could think by reading your text, that you fell in love with her.” i did, some way or another.
i believe.
ps: i know apologies sound stupid on the phone, but i could see your smile through it. thank you.
